Secretary of State John Kerry will be meeting with Cuba’s foreign minister tonight. The meeting will occur in Panama.
“.@JohnKerry will meet with Cuban Foreign Minister Rodriguez tonight in Panama City, where they’re both attending the Summit of the Americas,” State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf announced this evening on Twitter.
Meanwhile in Panama, President Obama will have an encounter with Cuba president Raul Castro. As the AP reported:
With his optimistic assessment, Obama sought to set the tone for the U.S. and Cuba to come closer to closing the book on more than a half-century of estrangement, when he and Castro come face to face at the Summit of the Americas. Obama was arriving Thursday evening in Panama City.
