Mark Warner predicts ‘there’s more to come’ after Michael Flynn pleads guilty in Russia investigation

Democratic Sen. Mark Warner predicted Sunday “much more” will be coming out of special prosecutor Robert Mueller’s charge against former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

“I think you’re going to see much more coming from the special prosecutor,” Warner told CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Flynn pleaded guilty Friday to lying to the FBI in January about his contacts with the Russian ambassador.

He was charged with one count of “willfully and knowingly” making “false, fictitious and fraudulent statements to the FBI” in regards to the conversations he had with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak days before President Trump was inaugurated.

“Clearly Gen. Flynn and his son [were] in a great deal of legal jeopardy,” Warner said. “The fact that Gen. Flynn was only charged with one count, a major count, lying to the FBI, I believe means there’s many more stories that Gen. Flynn will have to tell about his time during the campaign and during the transition.”

“There’s more to come,” Warner continued.

Flynn is the first Trump administration official to be charged as part of Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election.
