Poll: Trump, Clinton up big in Michigan

Front-runners Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton hold big leads in the March 8 primary state of Michigan, a new poll out Sunday says.

Trump leads Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, 41 percent to 22 percent, according to the new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll of the state.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is at 17 percent, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich is at 13 percent. Appearing Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Kasich disputed the poll numbers, saying he has momemtum in the state.

The poll is bad news for Kasich, who received good news Saturday from an ARG poll that put him in first place in Michigan, at 33 percent.

The Marist poll also finds that Hillary Clinton leads Bernie Sanders 57 percent to 40 percent in Michigan.

Sanders hopes to help close that gap by performing well in Sunday’s debate in Flint, Michigan.
