Although the film industry is notoriously liberal, a Right-leaning group, Friends of Abe, gives conservatives an opportunity to gather. Friends of Abe has applied for recognition as a tax-exempt group, but the IRS, still reeling from last year’s discovery that it had been overzealously investigating Tea Party groups, has yet to decide on its status after two years.
