A mother grizzly bear attacked a hunter in Alaska on Tuesday after he approached her three cubs, authorities said.
The hunter, Nicholas Kuperus of Michigan, managed to get away from the bear using bear spray, according to Alaska Wildlife Troopers.

Kuperus, 33, suffered severe wounds to his arms.
He stumbled on the bear family while hunting with a group in the upper East Fork Indian River area, authorities said.
Troopers were called to the hunter’s aid with a satellite communication device.
Wildlife officials flew in and rescued Kuperus.
He was then transported to a nearby ambulance to receive medical treatment.

The attack on Kuperus came days after another hunter was attacked by a brown bear, according to a report.
