While we were on the phone recently with former Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, he noted that he talks with former President Donald Trump, who he said is having fun in his pre-2022 role.
“He’s the most energetic president certainly in my lifetime, and he’s back on the trail doing rallies. He loves people. I think the president right now is just having fun,” said Zinke, already endorsed by Trump.
He added, “He enjoys being a kingmaker.”

When it was suggested that many in Washington aren’t fans, she said, “That’s a true story, for sure,” but the first-term lawmaker added, “Some people love me. That’s right.”

- Supporters of Republican Indiana Rep. Jim Banks weren’t crying when Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in a partisan move, banned him from her Jan. 6 commission. Almost immediately, he had new fans and donors. “His campaign account is about to blow up big time,” said one insider.
- Washington, D.C., ranks as one of the most prosperous areas in the nation. Most of the boxes grading Washington in the new 2021 United States Prosperity Index are green, and it’s No. 1 for infrastructure spending and No. 2 for “governance.” But there is a bright red box showing it ranks dead last for safety. The reason, it said: “D.C. has seen a mass shooting every year except in 2014,” though they don’t get headlines because it is mostly inner-city crime.
