Bush unveils new ad in N.H.

Five days after canceling major ad buys in other early nominating states, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign has begun airing a new ad in New Hampshire.

The new ad features remarks Bush made on the campaign trail in South Carolina last year.

“Serious times require serious leadership,” Bush says in the ad. “The last seven years under President Obama have taught us that problems do not take care of themselves in the absence of American leadership. The United States should not delay in leading a global coalition to take out ISIS with overwhelming force. We are at war with radical Islamic terrorism. We have but one choice: to defeat it.”

Bush canceled $3 million in advertising set to air in Iowa and South Carolina just before the end of 2015. But Bush’s focus on the Granite State has intensified, where he plans to stay on the air through the first-in-the-nation primary next month.

The Bush campaign deployed additional staffers to the early nominating states as part of its recent strategy shift, in hopes of making more direct contact with voters both by Bush and his supporters. Bush ranks fifth in the Washington Examiner‘s newest GOP presidential power rankings.
