Ed Norton returned to Washington Monday to briefly chat with American University students at a private campus event. Norton arrived late to the Ward Building, but entertained students with chatter about his upcoming film “Stone” and his storied acting career, having appeared in “Fight Club,” “25th Hour” and, more recently, “The Incredible Hulk.”
He talked about what he looks for when signing on to a new project.
When deciding to take a role, he told students, he is attracted to original and meaningful characters and also to directors who have a personal connection to the film’s subject matter. He gave props to the likes of Spike Lee, Milos Forman and Terrence Malick.
The event, which was open to AU students, faculty and staff only, was sponsored by John Douglass and the American University School of Communication and by the American University film society.
