Teen stabbed on Metrobus in Foggy Bottom

A 17-year-old was stabbed on a Metrobus near Foggy Bottom midday Wednesday after a fight with another rider.

The stabbing happened on a Route 80 bus bound for Fort Totten when two men started arguing near the intersection of 21st and F streets, said Metro spokesman Dan Stessel. Police believe the two men knew each other.

One man stabbed the other around 12:20 p.m., then fled.

The person who was stabbed was 17 years old, according to D.C. Fire & EMS Department. He was taken to Georgetown Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are looking for a black man in his early to mid-40s, who is about 5-foot-3 and bald. He was last seen wearing a purple shirt with white horizontal stripes, Stessel said.

It was the second stabbing on a bus this week. A female teen was stabbed Sunday afternoon on the A8 bus heading to the Anacostia station in Southeast D.C.
