Fourth quarter review

1. Chase Daniel executed a nice play-action pass on the 18-yard touchdown to Fred Davis. Completely froze the linebacker, opening the lane for the pass.

2. Trent Shelton appeared to get too wide on the 45-yard kickoff return. His only way to make the team is on special teams. Marko Mitchell is at least making some plays. Other receivers must do the same.

3. Chris Wilson and Rob Jackson pinched the quarterback on Alex Buzbee’s and Antonio Dixon’s sack. Worked the way it should, with the ends forcing the QB up the middle.

4. D’Anthony Batiste did a poor job in one-on-one blocking.

5. Fred Davis forces a fumble? Good two-play sequence for him. But what was that end zone dance?

6. I don’t trust Dominique Dorsey catching punts, especially in tight situations.

7. Colt Brennan was looking good up until his interception. He stared down the receiver, tight end Todd Yoder, and threw into four defenders. Very dumb in the red zone. Brennan has a knack for squeezing the ball into tight areas, but that was unnecessary.

8. Dorsey needs to be a little more patient running behind the fullback on sweeps; needed to be just a little deeper on one and it caused him to get a short gain. However, he was very patient on a draw to the right side for a seven-yard gain.

9. Goodness sakes; Chad Rinehart got driven back in pass protection and ended up on his butt. Please don’t tell me anyone has confidence that he could replace Randy Thomas even for a game.

10. Antonio Dixon is very, very strong. Does a nice job pushing his man backwards.

11. Michael Grant made a nice break on a pass late in the game. Good quick read.

12. Jeremy Jarmon does not stop. He was able to get some pressures because of his motor. That’s a good sign.
