Thirty charges added in South Capitol slayings
A 54-count superseding indictment was returned Wednesday against those accused in the South Capitol Street murder case.
It adds a total of 30 new charges against five individuals who previously were indicted in December 2010. The indictment includes charges stemming from the shootings that killed five young people and wounded nine.
Authorities believe that March 30, 2010, drive-by shootings that killed four people were in retaliation for an earlier killing over a piece of costume jewelry.
