XOXO, D.C. Public Schools

Don’t have a valentine this year? Planning for a solo Feb. 14? Guess again, Loner McCatlady, because D.C. Public Schools wants to share the love with you.

“With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, why not share the love you feel for that teacher, student, parent, staff member or school within the DCPS community?” school officials ask.

The community is invited to declare love for a DCPS teacher, student, parent, staff member, or school that makes their lives a little sweeter, and they’ve got three ways to get the lovin’ message across:

Post it to the DCPS website.
Sing it on twitter, and use the hashtag #dcpsvalentine
    Declare it on Facebook.

Here are some messages that are already up on Twitter:

EduEscritoria: thanks to all the DCPS teachers working to make sure our students can speak another language and think outside the District! #dcpsvalentine

citymom92: principal cahall and harnsburger, thx 4 making my son’s first year of high school so awesome #dcpsvalentine

Dontworryteach: Lots of love and appreciation to the LSAT (local school advisory team) at Wilson for working together endlessly all year 🙂 #dcpsvalentine

CityYearDC: We love our partnership with @DCPublicSchools! #Thx2u #dcpsvalentine

And one that DCPS probably isn’t too happy about…

KevinMorison: To arbitrator – Thx for reinstating 75 #dcpublicschools teachers unfairly (& probably illegally) fired by @m_rheee. #dcpsvalentine
