Georgia GOP gubernatorial candidate’s spokesman unleashes on reporter over immigration inquiry: WATCH

A TV interview with Georgia Republican gubernatorial candidate Michael Williams descended into an expletive-riddled exchange when Williams’ spokesman objected to a reporter’s line of questioning about the candidate’s “deportation bus.”

“Oh for fuck’s sake, did he say color?” spokesman Seth Weathers asked Williams, a Georgia state senator, in response to a question from WXIA-TV’s virtual “11 Alive” channel on May 16 about whether Williams opposed immigration based on the color of an individual’s skin or their country of origin.

“How edited is this interview going to be? I’m just curious because you generally fuck them all up with your own bias. I kind of feel like that’s where we’re going here. Is that the case? I mean your smug little comments and stuff,” Weathers continued.

The clip aired Sunday on MSNBC’s “Kasie DC.”

Williams’ “deportation bus,” which is being used to tour Georgia and to remove people illegally living in the U.S., made news on May 17 after it broke down on Interstate 75.

Williams faces six other Republican contenders in a primary contest set for May 22.

Republican Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal is term-limited and therefore cannot seek re-election.
