Columnist Cal Thomas joins Examiner opinion lineup

Cal Thomas, America’s most widely syndicated political opinion columnist, is joining The Washington Examiner’s growing stable of top-notch commentary writers. More than 500 daily newspapers currently publish the veteran conservative commentator’s twice-weekly columns, which are syndicated by Tribune Media.

“In a very short time, The Washington Examiner has gotten the attention of an increasing number of Washingtonians.” Thomas said. “From its news coverage, to its opinion, editorial and sports pages, The Examiner has become a newspaper that must be paid attention to. I am delighted to now have my column running there twice a week.”

The Thomas column will begin officially Tuesday, Jan. 12 and will appear every Tuesday and Thursday thereafter. The Washington Examiner thus becomes the exclusive Washington daily carrying the Thomas column.

I’ve known and admired Cal for many years and I am absolutely thrilled that he is joining us. He’s a 40-year veteran of the print and broadcast news business, having reported for NBC News, hosted his own news discussion show on CNBC, done weekly commentaries on WTOP and other radio stations around the country, and been a regular on the “Fox News Watch” since its inception.

Cal has also authored 10 books, including, “Common Ground: How to Stop the Partisan War That Is Destroying America” with Democrat Bob Beckel.

Thomas thus joins the Examiner’s growing lineup of stellar conservative analysts that includes Michael Barone, Byron York, Irwin Stelzer, Glenn Reynolds, Meghan Cox Gurdon, Gregory Kane, David Freddoso, Noemie Emery, Tim Carney, Mark Hemingway, Star Parker and Hugh Hewitt, among many others.
