Sen. Tim Scott beginning ‘Faith in America’ listening tour amid 2024 presidential run speculation

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) will begin his “Faith in America” listening tour amid speculation that he may launch a presidential campaign in 2024.

Scott, a rising star in the Republican Party, will begin the tour with speeches in South Carolina in late February. The state is third in the Republican primary calendar and first in the Democratic calendar.

Scott will speak at an event in Charleston, South Carolina, commemorating Black History Month, which began Wednesday.

He will then travel to Iowa, where the caucuses will begin the GOP primaries. Digital ads paid for by Scott’s 2022 reelection campaign for Senate will run in Iowa ahead of his visit, according to Fox News Digital.

Scott will headline the Polk County Republican Party’s Lincoln Dinner on Feb. 22 in West Des Moines and will give a speech on the importance of faith in America prior to the dinner.

“This tour will be more than just speeches and policy events. We have this great chance to listen to people across the country and to share a vision of hope and opportunity,” an adviser for Scott said.

“We look forward to taking our message to multiple other states over the coming months,” the adviser said.

Scott hinted at a 2024 presidential run in November during his victory speech. He stated that he is in his final six-year term in the Senate.

“My grandfather voted for the first man of color to be elected as president of the United States,” Scott said in his victory speech. “I wish he had lived long enough to see perhaps another man of color elected president of the United States. But this time, let it be a Republican and not just a Democrat. So just know: All things are possible in America.”

His affiliated super PAC, Opportunity Matters Fund, has raised over $36 million since the start of 2021.

If Scott announces his bid for president, he may not be the only candidate out of South Carolina. Nikki Haley, former governor of South Carolina, is reportedly announcing her presidential bid on Feb. 15.
