With all the questions surrounding Gov. Chris Christie’s (R-N.J.) #Bridgegate incident, perhaps the best thing to do is just sit back and sing a little jam about it — a traffic jam, if you will.
That’s exactly what late-night comedian Jimmy Fallon did on Tuesday, accompanied by guest and musical legend Bruce Springsteen. The duo rocked out to a parody of Springsteen’s ‘Born to Run.’ And of course, Fallon and ‘The Boss’ were dressed exactly alike in wigs, bandanas and denim muscle shirts.
“Oh, maybe this bridgegate was just payback,” Fallon crooned. “It’s a b***hslap to the state Democrats. We gotta get out, but we can’t. We’re stuck in Gov. Chris Christie’s Fort Lee, New Jersey traffic jam.”
The two also complained about having to take a leak, but being stuck in traffic, and Springstreen sang that Christie’s press conference was “longer than one of my own damn shows.”
Christie, a noted Springsteen fan, has had his own appearances on Fallon’s show. Most recently, he wrote thank-you notes with the host after being re-elected, and back in June Christie had a ‘jam’ of his own, slow jamming the news with Fallon. The Governor is also a potential 2016 presidential contender.
