Cocaine dealer forfeits more than $500,000

A U.S. District Court judge ordered a Baltimore cocaine distributor on Thursday to forfeit more than $500,000, according to the U.S. Attorney?s Office.

U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz ordered Daniel Pellegrini, 55, of Baltimore, to pay a forfeiture of $558,752.62 for conspiracy to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine, and sentenced him to 30 months in prison.

Authorities intercepted telephone calls between Pellegrini and a suspected narcotics trafficker and witnessed a meeting with the source of drug supply at Pellegrini?s house, according to the statement of facts in the case in Pellegrini?s guilty plea.

On July 17, 2004, officers seized 1/2 kilogram of cocaine and 1/2 kilogram of marijuana at Pellegrini?s residence, along with scales, tally sheets and a substantial amount of cash.

Pellegrini admitted that he conspired to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute between 5 and 15 kilograms of cocaine.
