A Prince William County student will hit the small screen on an episode of Animal Planet’s “DOGS 101″ airing Oct. 2.
Connor Peak, a sixth-grader at Godwin Middle School in Woodbridge, will be featured with his 3-year-old sheltie, Foster.
Animal Planet filmed the footage at a March dog show in Lynchburg, and then shot more in Woodbridge over spring break.
“They were very interested in my son’s story, with Connor being high-functioning autistic and showing dogs,” said Connor’s mother, Karen Peak. Connor has Hyperlexia (related to Asperger’s and pervasive developmental disorder and considered autism spectrum).
Enjoying its third season, the “DOGS 101″ series bills itself as “fun crash course about all things dog.” The episode will air at 8 p.m.
