“Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis isn’t head-over-heels for the jurors that found him guilty of assault and false imprisonment earlier this month – in fact, he thinks they’re “mentally f-ing retarded.”
“I want that jury to know that each and every one of you are mentally f-ing retarded and you should be euthanized because, as Darwin said, you have naturally selected yourself,” the 40-year-old Francis told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month.
“You are the weakest members of the herd. Goodbye!” he continued. “And if that jury wants to convict me because I didn’t show up, which is the only reason why they did, then, you know, they should all be lined up and shot!”
The previous day Francis had been found guilty on five charges — three counts of false imprisonment, one count of dissuading a witness from reporting and one count of assault causing great bodily injury — from an incident at his Bel Air, Calif. mansion back in January 2011. He faces up to five years in prison, although it’s unlikely he would be given the maximum sentence.
The Hollywood Reporter also noted in the article that Mr. Francis claims that “all [he] did was do a nice thing” by inviting the three women to his home after a party at the Supper Club in Hollywood.
“It just proves that any celebrity in Hollywood should never give a ride home to any girls,” he said in the interview. “I mean, there were 20 people in the afterparty. They [say they] got their head slammed on a tile floor and they were imprisoned here for hours. They said it was here on the tile floor. I don’t see any tile right here. Now you’ve [The Hollywood Reporter interviewer] been here for hours. Have you been imprisoned?”
This isn’t the first time Mr. Francis has been in trouble with the law. Francis has also faced charges of tax evasion and filming underage girls, and was sued in the past for defamation. He is even banned from entering the Girls Gone Wild studios in Santa Monica, Calif.
He is currently enjoying his last months of freedom vacationing in India before his July 9 hearing.
