Finally, the rumor mill can stop churning about who will fill the open judges’ seats on “The X Factor.”
Fox made it official Monday, naming Britney Spears and Demi Lovato as the newest additions to the singing competition show.
But before Fox could make the announcement Monday, Britney broke the news herself, tweeting a photo of her, Demi and the two current judges, show’s creator Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.
The four appeared at the Fox programming upfront held at the Beacon Theater in New York.
Right before the announcement, Simon said, “Sometimes you’ve gotta change things and I think change is good.”
The two seats opened up when Simon shook things up and let judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger go at the end of the first season.
Britney, 30, and Demi, 19, hitting the judges panel was probably the worst-kept secret in the entertainment industry of late.
It had been widely reported that Brit already signed a $15 million contract and TMZ reported that Demi, too, had already signed on over the weekend.
‘Modern Family’ star receives kidney from her father
After years of struggling with kidney dysplasia, “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland has received a transplant.
The 21-year-old was diagnosed with abnormal kidney development when she was 9, and the condition often left her exhausted or in pain. She has now announced that she underwent the life-saving transplant surgery in April.
Sarah, who received the kidney from her father, says the surgery has given her a new perspective on life. “You know that family is always going to be there for you—no matter what. My dad gave me a freaking’ kidney!” she said.
The actress, who plays Haley Dunphy on the hit ABC show, told “Good Morning America” that she told her dad, “It’s weird — I’ve got your kidney in me.”
Sarah’s boyfriend, actor Matt Prokop, has also been there to support her during the recovery.
“He helps me with my medication and takes me to doctor appointments,” she told Seventeen. Any other 21-year-old guy would not be there, I guarantee it. I am one of the luckiest people in the world to have him be there for me.”
She added, “I have a second chance at life, not a lot of people get that.”
