During her address at the 2012 Eagle Forum Collegians Summit yesterday, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, (R-MN) warned students of the importance of the upcoming 2012 elections, especially if Obamacare is to be repealed.
“All of our chips are on November,” said Congresswoman Bachmann. “That is more true now than ever.”
The Congresswoman from Minnesota emotionally recalled the infamous day three weeks ago on which the individual mandate in President Obama’s healthcare plan was upheld by the Supreme Court.
“I sat in the Supreme Court Chamber, when (Chief Justice) John Roberts read his decision from the bench,” said Congresswoman Bachmann. “And I was incredulous! I put my hand over my heart!”
A former candidate in the 2012 GOP Presidential primary, Congresswoman Bachmann made repealing President Obama’s new healthcare law the focus of her campaign. Although she exited the race in January, few would argue that her steadfast devotion to removing all parts of the current president’s healthcare bill did not positively impact the other candidates in the race by making them more conservative.
“When Mitt Romney began his campaign, he was not for the repeal of Obamacare,” said Congresswoman Bachmann. “Now Mitt Romney has said eyeball to eyeball to me, ‘Michele, I will repeal Obamacare’.”
Bachmann spoke highly of the presumptive GOP 2012 presidential nominee, and highlighted his economic track record.
“Remember, (he) is a very sharp guy,” said Congresswoman Bachmann. “He has proven himself that he knows how to succeed and he gets business.”
Congresswoman Bachmann was one of several members of Congress who addressed the 2012 Eagle Forum Collegians Summit, which wraps up today with presentations by several conservative activists.
