A member of the MS-13 gang wanted for a murder in his native Honduras was apprehended in Maryland.
Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials said authorities located 29-year-old Oscar Orlando Amador Centeno at a home in Randallstown on Monday. He is accused of killing a man in Olancho, Honduras, by striking him in the head with a machete in July 2010.
“This arrest should serve as a reminder to foreign fugitives who mistakenly believe they can elude justice by fleeing to the U.S.,” Calvin McCormick, the Baltimore field office director for ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations division, said in a statement.
In January 2010, Centeno was deported from the United States for illegally entering the country. He illegally re-entered the United States at some point after that, but authorities don’t know when or where he returned.
