Noor Salman, the wife of Omar Mateen, is now saying she is not as guilty in her husband’s shooting spree as the media has made her out to be and in fact was not aware of the premeditated attack.
Institute for Public Accuracy Communications Director Sam Husseini, whose background source is Salman’s friend, wrote in the Huffington Post late Thursday that she was not with Mateen when he purchased either of the weapons, did not drive him to the club, does not even like to drive and never took a polygraph.
“What we apparently have is severe logrolling between media and government — where government sources hide behind anonymous quotes and media hide behind anonymous sources,” Husseini writes. “So, basically, they can mutually absolve each other and publish most anything that will benefit the both of them.”
Salman is not in police custody, but has been given a cell phone from the FBI for future contact.
