DETROIT (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard says it will participate in a series of events in Detroit and at other Great Lakes ports commemorating the War of 1812.

The Coast Guard’s Cleveland office says the Detroit events are scheduled for Sept. 4-10. Elsewhere, programs are planned in Milwaukee Aug. 8-13; Chicago Aug. 14-20; Toledo, Ohio, Aug 23-27; Cleveland Aug 27-Sept. 4; and Buffalo, N.Y., Sept 11-17.
