Conway slams Biden’s age: ‘I’ll be changing my mind when I’m in my eighth decade, too’

White House counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway took a dig Thursday at presidential candidate Joe Biden’s age and his shifting views on abortion.

“Talk about the Hyde Amendment, which Joe Biden was totally in favor of, and all of a sudden says he’s not in favor of the Hyde Amendment anymore,” Conway told reporters on the White House driveway. “I guess I’ll be changing my mind when I’m in my eighth decade, too. It’s a little weird.”

Biden, 76, has been known in the 2020 Democratic field for his relatively moderate stance on abortion. Throughout his career, he supported the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits the use of taxpayer dollars to fund abortion with exceptions for cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother. But this month, Biden said he was in favor of repealing the amendment.

This is not the first time Biden has been attacked on age. One of Trump’s preferred nicknames for the candidate is “Sleepy Joe.”

The president last Tuesday also mocked Biden for lacking energy.

“I don’t know what the hell happened to Biden,” Trump said. “What happened to him? I’m looking, I said, ‘That doesn’t look like the guy I knew.’ What happened to him?”
