Homeowners in England struck gold when they uncovered a trove of centuries-old coins while renovating their kitchen.
The treasure was discovered when the homeowners found a can under the kitchen floorboards.
The gold coins are estimated to fetch nearly $300,000 when they hit the auction block, according to a report.

Their estimate upon discovery was reported at $290,000.
Some coins in the collection date back four centuries, the report noted.
“This find of over 260 coins is also one of the largest on archaeological record from Britain, and certainly for the 18th century period,” auction house Spink & Son said.

The coins are set to be auctioned off in October.
