During a conversation with former President Bill Clinton at the 2017 Presidential Leadership Scholars graduation, former President George W. Bush said “humility” was the most important thing to embrace if someone wants to be president of the United States.
“What do you think it takes for somebody who says, ‘I want to be president. I want to be like you. I want to be like you,'” David Rubinstein, moderator of the event, asked the two former presidents.
“Humility,” Bush responded. “I think it’s really important to know what you don’t know and listen to people who do know what you don’t know.”
