Kellyanne Conway calls on House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff to resign

Presidential advisor Kellyanne Conway said Monday that House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff should resign for claiming the Russia investigation could be bigger than Watergate.

“He ought to resign today,” Conway said on “Fox & Friends.” “He has been on every TV show, 50 times a day, practically for the last two years promising Americans that the president would be impeached or indicted.”

Conway’s remarks come in light of weekend events surrounding special counsel Robert Mueller’s two-year investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 elections. Attorney General William Barr said in a letter to Congress released late Sunday afternoon that Mueller “did not find that the Trump Campaign, or anyone associated with it, conspired or coordinated with the Russian Government in these efforts, despite multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist” the campaign.

Schiff, D-Calif., has been a frequent critic of Trump in the Russia probe. He previously said the scandal could prove worse than Watergate, and said that there was plenty of evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia. The House Intelligence panel, led by Schiff, continues to probe elements of the Russia story.
