Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly said on Tuesday that ABC had no other choice but to cancel “Roseanne” in the wake of the star’s racist comments.
The conservative pundit said Roseanne Barr’s “vicious personal attack” on Valerie Jarrett, who was a senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, came out of nowhere, and that ABC could not stand by and allow such comments to stand.
“Roseanne Barr’s vicious personal attack on former Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett came out of nowhere and cost Ms. Barr and the entire staff of her program their jobs,” O’Reilly tweeted just hours after ABC announced that it will be canceling the sitcom.
Roseanne Barr’s vicious personal attack on former Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett came out of nowhere and cost Ms. Barr and the entire staff of her program their jobs. @ABC/@Disney could not continue with the show without insulting millions of Americans.

He continued: “@ABC/@Disney could not continue with the show without insulting millions of Americans.”
ABC pulled the plug on “Roseanne” after Barr tweeted that Jarrett was a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and “Planet of the Apes” and received swift backlash for the remarks.
