‘Best wishes’: Tulsi Gabbard sends Rush Limbaugh ‘love’ after cancer diagnosis

Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard sent her support to Rush Limbaugh after the radio host announced he has been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.

“To Rush Limbaugh: I and my family send our love and best wishes to you and your loved ones at this difficult moment in your life,” tweeted the Hawaii congresswoman on Monday. “May your hearts and minds be filled with and strengthened by God’s love.”

Gabbard, 38, has faced criticism from fellow Democrats during the primary season due to some of her libertarian-leaning policy positions, including her anti-interventionist stance. She is suing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for calling her a “Russian asset” in October.

The 2020 Democrat has been inundated with accusations that her views are more in line with Republicans due to her rejection of some Democratic positions and doing interviews with Fox News. California Sen. Kamala Harris accused her of “parroting Fox News” talking points after Gabbard defended President Trump amid calls on Twitter to ban the president’s account.

Many Republicans and conservative media pundits also wished Limbaugh well following the revelation of his diagnosis. Trump said there is “nobody like” him, and former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly sent her best to the talk show host, whom she called a “tireless warrior.”

“I have to tell you something today that I wish I didn’t have to tell you,” said Limbaugh on his radio show Monday. “I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.”
