Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and a White House senior adviser, reportedly fundraised for Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., at a private event in North Carolina on Thursday night.
Sources told Politico that Kushner attended the fundraiser for the House Freedom Caucus chairman in his private capacity.
Meadows and Kushner have reportedly discussed issues like Israel and paid leave. One of the many issues in Kushner’s portfolio is working on an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement, and the president’s son-in-law traveled to Israel with a U.S. delegation this month, when he met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu.
Meadows supported Trump during the campaign and has remained an ally to the president, even after Trump attacked the House Freedom Caucus earlier this year as the House was debating its bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.
