WASHINGTON (AP) — The National Park Service and the Friends of the National World War II Memorial are preparing to commemorate the 67th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day at the World War II Memorial on the National Mall.
Retired Marine Corps Gen. Peter Pace will help mark the 67th anniversary of V-J Day on Sunday. A ceremony is planned for 9 a.m. at the World War II Memorial.
The U.S. Marine Corps Brass Quintet will perform, and the memorial will host a wreath-laying ceremony.
The day marks the anniversary of the Allies’ victory over Japan during World War II.
