Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders lead their respective fields with mere days before the New Hampshire primary.
According to the latest Monmouth University poll of likely Granite State primary voters, the field is crowded in the race for second place on the Republican side, but the Democratic race has narrowed.
Trump leads the way with 30 percent of support from likely Republican primary voters. His closest competitor, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, earned 14 percent of support. Those results have not changed much since January.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush follow with 13 percent each. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is the last remaining GOP candidate with double-digit support at 12 percent. Bush has gained nine points in the last month, despite claims his campaign was dead.
On the Democratic side, Sanders holds a 10-point lead over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 52 percent to 42 percent. Sanders lost a point in the last month, while Clinton gained three.
The poll was conducted between Thursday’s Democratic debate and Saturday’s Republican debate. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points for both Republicans (508 likely primary voters) and Democrats (502 likely primary voters).
