Joe Rogan swipes at CNN’s Brian Stelter, tells him he’s ‘supposed to be a journalist’

Podcast host Joe Rogan spent a segment on his show, The Joe Rogan Experience, taking swipes at the media and CNN hosts Brian Stelter and Don Lemon.

“They didn’t even understand the way they were describing it,” Rogan said during a discussion with commentator Kyle Kulinski, recalling a CNN panel featuring Stelter back in January about YouTubers garnering more viewers than CNN. “They were describing it as if they’re entitled to viewers. They were saying, ‘There are people on YouTube right now that get more views than this show.’ This is because the market has spoken, and your show’s f***ing terrible. Well, Brian Stelter’s show keeps slipping and slipping and slipping in the ratings.”

“He’s the worst,” the guest added.

Rogan then mentioned Lemon, saying: “It’s the same thing. Everyone knows they’re not real. They’re not real humans.”

Kulinski pointed to a decline in legacy media journalistic integrity and accused Stelter of “outright calling for censorship.”

Rogan agreed, bringing up an exchange Stelter had with White House press secretary Jen Psaki earlier this month.

“How about Brian Stelter talking to the press secretary, ‘What are we doing wrong? What are we doing wrong?’ Like, hey, motherf***er, you’re supposed to be a journalist,” Rogan said.

“And they wonder why they get no views,” Kulinski added.

Rogan said Stelter’s employment at CNN and the company’s friendliness with the Biden administration restricts what can and cannot be said on his show.

“But it’s not even that,” Rogan continued. “They’re obviously being told a certain amount of what to do. And maybe he’d be an interesting guy if he had his own f***ing podcast that you can rely on his own personality and be himself. I don’t know.”

“I can’t imagine doing that gig,” Rogan concluded, referencing the prospect of working for CNN.
