Melania Trump to meet with students about ‘personal triumphs and struggles’

First lady Melania Trump is hosting her first solo listening session with a group of local middle school students to discuss the issues they face, the White House announced Friday.

Trump will converse with the young teenagers at the White House on Monday.

“They will have the opportunity to speak with the First Lady about their day-to-day lives, including their personal triumphs and struggles,” the White House said in a statement.

Trump has prioritized children during her husband’s presidency. She has made numerous visits to children’s hospitals both in the U.S. and during her trips abroad.

She vowed during the presidential campaign to address cyberbullying, and has called on adults to encourage positive social media habits among children and teens.

“It is important that as adults, we take the lead and the responsibility in helping our children manage the many issues they are facing today,” Trump told the spouses of the nation’s governors in February.
