A former top staffer for the Clinton campaign is taking aim at Donald Trump with a new website accusing the president-elect of being “corrupt as fuck.”
Hillary Clinton’s former digital director for communications, Matt Ortega, told Politico that he launched the website — corrupt.af — with his own money and “completely” on his own.
The top of the site counts how many hours “since the latest instance of corruption by Donald Trump.”
The site includes links and excerpts of stories that raise questions about Trump’s conflicts of interests between his businesses and his role in the Oval Office.
“A lot of these examples are obvious conflicts, like having Ivanka Trump sit in on Trump’s meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Abe,” Ortega said. “But they also include examples that show his policy on specific issues, or say, countries [where his position] could be swayed because of financial interest either in his business or his personal finances.”
He told Politico he created the website because he wants to make sure people continue to scrutinize the ethical questions around Trump’s presidency.
“There were so many conflict-of-interest stories flying around, it was kind of hard to keep track of everything,” he said. “That’s my fear. It will all go down a memory hole and people will forget.”
