Police want to speak with Cowboys player Kelvin Joseph about fatal shooting: Report

Police want to talk to Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred in Dallas last month, according to multiple reports.

Leaders within the Cowboys indicated that they do not believe Joseph is the shooter but encouraged him to speak with authorities, sources with the team told the Dallas Morning News. The team has not issued a comment publicly.

Cameron Ray, 20, was fatally shot on March 18 after getting into an altercation with a group, which appears to include Joseph. Video footage published Wednesday on Fox 4 allegedly shows Joseph and several others walking toward the parking lot before Ray was later hit by shots fired from a passing SUV. He then died at the hospital.

Ray had come to Dallas with several friends for the weekend, police Detective Tonya McDaniel told Fox 4. Investigators are still asking for help identifying several people from the video footage based on their clothing and jewelry at the time.

“I need you to point them out, put them on blast, so that they will come in and talk to me — because somebody died here, and we need to find out who shot Cameron,” McDaniel said.
