CNN’s Chris Cuomo goes off on Trump’s transgender guidelines in 90+ tweets

CNN morning co-host Chris Cuomo tweeted more than 90 messages on Thursday in response to the Trump administration’s rescinding of an Obama-era guidance on transgender issues.

Cuomo, the son of former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo and brother to current Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y., has been engaging Twitter users on the issue all day. Some of his exchanges have been colorful.

One user asked Cuomo, “What do you tell a 12-year-old girl who doesn’t want to see a penis in the locker room?”

“I wonder if she is the problem or her overprotective and intolerant dad? teach tolerance,” Cuomo responded, implying the daughter’s opinion was in fact not hers, but her father’s.

On Wednesday evening, the White House informed the Supreme Court it would no longer be instructing schools to allow transgender students to use the bathroom or locker room of their gender identity.

The new guidance allows states to individually determine how to carry out the Education Amendment Act’s Title IX.
