I’d be surprised if the President showed up tonight, given no change in security and no warnings to get here early….
The Bulls are enough of an attraction by themselves, given their four-game win streak and Derrick Rose.
As for the Wizards, there are always questions.
First, how about Randy Foye? At Toronto: 14 points, 6 assists; vs. Denver: 2 points, 3 assists; vs. Minnesota: 8 points, 6 assists. What will we see tonight?
“I think he’s been kind of up and down a little bit,” said Wizards head coach Flip Saunders at shootaround earlier today. “There’s no question, the toughest thing for a point guard when you bring new people in, is now, you don’t have just worry about yourself but you have to worry about them, trying to get them in spots. I think what’s happened a little bit, he’s having to think so much for everybody else, I think it’s hurt a little bit of his aggressiveness.”
The wild swings have also become a hallmark of the team as a whole. More Flip:
“We’re going to be a little bit like that because of the temperment of our team, and we just don’t have a lot of practice time in order to get things. Right now, we’re just trying to set a mindset that no matter what, just go out and let’s err on being aggressive. The positive thing is we’ve gone three games and averaged dang near 107 a game, over 20 assists, and we’re not turning the ball over as much so those are positives. I think we’ve hurt ourselves – we’ve been so aggressive we’ve gotten ourselves into foul trouble at times. I think it’s forced us in some of those ebb and flow situations where either ’Dray [Blatche] has been out of the game or Josh [Howard] has been out for periods of time together. When that happens, Randy and Mike [Miller] have to play at a super high level, and they haven’t played at that level when those guys have been out.”
Despite a wrapped right wrist, JaVale McGee is expected to play. Flip:
“He’s banged up. He’s not used to playing the amount of minutes and getting banged up. A couple games ago he did something and then he got hit in the mouth. He goes, ‘He hit me in the mouth.’ I said, ‘That’s what’s going to happen in this league.’ He dunked and then patted his chest. The next time he got it, they leveled him right in the mouth. He’s going through that learning that process. The only way he’s going to learn to play that way is to keep on fighting through it.”
