Top 5 weirdest Mitt Romney moments

News broke this morning that the Obama campaign was preparing to attack GOP Candidate Mitt Romney by pointing out that he was ‘weird’ and ‘phony.’

It’s no secret that Romney has had a couple of weird moments over the years, as any candidate would after criss-crossing the nation for years looking for voter support. Maybe some of them weren’t so weird.

Here are the top 5:

5) Sending leftover pizza to Obama’s headquarters

You know what’s awesome about Chicago? Deep Dish pizza. So why not sit down with business leaders and eat as much as you can?

But who’s idea was it to send the leftover pizza to President Obama’s campaign headquarters?

In May, Romney tweeted a photo of a delivery boy and wrote, “Great deep dish at @ginoseast. Sending the extra slices to @barackobama and his Chicago HQ team.”

Ha. Take that Obama. I just sent you cold pizza?

4) Mitt’s ‘skinny jeans’

The L.A. Times reported back in March, that Mitt Romney had been spotted sporting skinny Gap jeans bought for him by his wife, suggesting that this was his latest attempt to connect with ‘hip’ voters. It wasn’t long before this photo surfaced.

Supporters might say, so he wears the clothes that his wife gives him, and does dishes too. Why the hate?

3) Romney’s once having strapped his dog to the roof of his car.

Who knew that people would use your 1983 summer vacation against you?

As Philip Klein reminded us earlier today, Romeny would lose the dog lovers vote, after this 2007 story circulated that he made a 12-hour family road trip in 1983 with their Irish setter, Seamus, strapped to the roof in a dog carrier.

“If you wouldn’t strap your child to the roof of your car, you have no business doing that to the family dog,” Ingrid Newkirk, president of PETA said. “I don’t know who would find that acceptable.”

According to Romney, the dog liked it.

2) Pretending a waitress pinched him on the butt.

As the Examiner’s Brian Hughes reported in June, Romney posed in front of a jukebox with four waitresses at Mary Ann’s Diner in Derry.

Before the picture was snapped, he jumped up, declaring: “Oh, my goodness,” as if a waitress had grabbed his rear. Turns out, none of the waitresses were getting frisky.

“I was just teasing the girls,” Romney said afterwards.

1) Who let the dogs out?

In 2008, Mitt Romney marched in a  Martin Luther King parade and then posed for a photo with several African-American children.

“Who let the dogs out?” joked Romney, as they gathered for a photo.

Later, Romney remarked to a baby, “Oh, you’ve got some bling-bling here.”
