A loud explosion in Tennessee rattled residents on Saturday night, leaving authorities stumped as to the origin of the commotion.
Residents of Montgomery County, Tennessee, called the police over a noise that sounded like a “loud explosion” that shook the area at 10:50 p.m. The loud noise was heard all across the county, with some residents saying they could feel the ground shake, the Clarksville Police Department stated in a post on Facebook.

The department said no reports of any injuries or property damage have been filed following the noise. Authorities worked with the fire department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and emergency medical services to find what caused the mysterious noise, ultimately finding no evidence of its origin.
One Tennessee resident, Heather Risacher Rooney, was able to record footage of the noise as it occurred, which was then posted on Twitter.

Fort Campbell, home to the 101st Airborne Division, was posited as the origin of the sound by the Clarksville police. However, the fort was on a four-day holiday for Labor Day weekend and did not seem to be conducting any type of training when the noise occurred.
