The political action committee funded by contributions from AT&T employees announced Friday it will not make contributions to Rep. Steve King.
In a series of tweets, AT&T’s public policy group announced the employees who manage where the PAC gives money have decided they will not contribute to King.
“The committee concluded that further support of Rep. King would not be consistent with one of our core values …’Stand for Equality,'” the tweet said.

The company is the latest to pull its support from the controversial Republican, following Land O’Lakes and Purina. The congressman, who is facing Democrat J.D. Scholten in next week’s election, has come under fire for his ties to white nationalist and far-right figures and what National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Steve Stivers called “completely inappropriate” recent comments, actions, and retweets.
AT&T’s PAC has donated to both Democrats and Republicans in a 40-60 percent split this cycle, according to the Center for Responsive Politics’ OpenSecrets.
