Wrestling star Lacey Evans came under fire Tuesday after sharing a video of a conspiracy theory that linked autism and ADHD to increased consumption of processed food.
Evans posted the conspiracy from CriticalHealthNews.com to her Instagram story, which centered on two men that doubted true autism and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder numbers. The men also claimed ADHD and autism did not always exist.

Despite Twitter users attacking her for the content, Evans doubled down on the post in two tweets that have since been deleted.
“I watched a video on the impact of processed food is having on our children and I shared the video. y’all are insane,” the WWE star tweeted.
Evans added that the person in the video was talking about how there has been a major health change since people began eating processed food, according to Wrestling News. She has not released a separate statement or apology since removing the tweets.
ADHD was once known as ADD; the first time a doctor noticed that some people, especially children, were having problems paying attention to their tasks was in 1798, by Scottish doctor Sir Alexander Crichton. However, other reports on the developmental disabilities did not surface again until the 20th century, according to WebMD.

Evans recently returned to the wrestling sport earlier this year after taking a hiatus due to pregnancy, the outlet reported.
