Cruz campaign announces Mia Love’s endorsement

Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign earned the support of Republican congresswoman Mia Love on Tuesday, as her constituents cast their votes in the Utah’s presidential nominating contest.

Cruz campaign spokesman Ron Nehring announced the news on Twitter.

Love previously endorsed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign in November 2015. She joins other prominent conservative women, including South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, as among those who have joined Cruz’s cause after Rubio quit the 2016 race.

Cruz denied reports on Monday that he was considering explicitly joining forces with Rubio, but he said he would welcome Rubio’s support. The Texas senator added that he thought Rubio would make the shortlist of potential vice presidential picks for a Republican presidential nominee.
