Foot Locker and Runner’s World magazine are offering a free eight-week clinic for capital-area runners. The run club is available to D.C.-area veteran runners attempting a new fast time in the 10k, or for novice runners looking for help with their first race. Weekly classes and training tips will be available during the program to help rookie runners stay motivated and on task. The club ends with a 10k race in September. The magazine and shoe store are hosting similar run clubs in New York, Dallas, San Francisco and Chicago. The District’s club will meet Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in Georgetown. – Ben Giles
