Holder: Trump gives me a ‘knot in my stomach’

Former Attorney General Eric Holder said Donald Trump has disqualified himself from the presidency after he called on Russia to help find Hillary Clinton’s missing emails, and said he’s already nervous about the prospect of him becoming president.

Holder said Donald Trump’s rhetoric has “done damage to the nation already.” He said he has “a knot in my stomach, it makes me nervous to think that he might be the next leader of this great country.”

“To think that this is the nominee for the Republican party is simply something that is hard for me to wrap my mind around. I think it is an indication — I don’t say this lightly — I think this disqualifies him to be commander-in-chief,” Holder said on MSNBC after speaking in support of Clinton at the Democratic National Convention.

Holder dismissed criticisms that Attorney General Loretta Lynch and FBI director James Comey allowed Clinton to escape criminal prosecution for transmitting state secrets through her use of a private email server.

“I have total faith in James Comey’s ability, in Loretta Lynch’s ability. And I know that the career people at the Justice Department and the FBI made a determination based on the facts and the law,” said Holder. He said the attacks against the Democratic nominee are another example of Republican’s “ignoring the facts and just kind of making a political game out of whatever they can, however they can.”
