Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov joked about the furor over President Trump’s meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin, by saying there may have been several inconsequential meetings between the two men at the G-20 summit.
When asked in an NBC interview about the three meetings the two men had, Lavrov delivered a deadpan response.
“Well maybe they went to the toilet together, that was a fourth time,” he said.

Lavrov suggested that the G-20 meetings this month gave the two leaders several chances to mingle in large rooms where leaders were gathered.
“When you are brought by your parents to kindergarten, do you mix with the people who are waiting in the same room to start going to a classroom?” he asked.
NBC cast his remarks as confirmation that “Trump and Putin may have had more meetings at G-20 summit.”
