Melania Trump to appear in coronavirus PSAs

First lady Melania Trump will be appearing in national broadcast PSAs to educate the public about how to stay safe during the coronavirus outbreak.

“First Lady of the United States Melania Trump, Surgeon General Jerome M. Adams, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Deborah Birx, and other Administration officials will appear in national broadcast PSAs that communicate the most important ways Americans can protect themselves and those most at risk,” the White House said in a Wednesday press release.

“All PSAs and content will air and run during air time and space that will be donated by the media and coordinated through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Health and Human Services,” the White House added.

The statement did not say when the PSAs would be released, but it would mark Trump’s first official involvement with the coronavirus response. In response to the outbreak, the first lady has so far only tweeted.

The coronavirus has infected over 8,000 Americans so far, killing 147.

President Trump tested negative for the coronavirus after coming in contact with an aide to the president of Brazil who had tested positive.
