Authorities are searching for a Montgomery County man who has gone missing at Yellowstone National Park.
Park rangers are looking for Stuart Isaac, 48, of Burtonsville.
His vehicle, a black 2009 Lexus IS-250 sedan, was found abandoned during a routine patrol of a parking area on the evening of Sept. 26, according to the National Park Service.
Repeated ground and air searches over the past week have not led to any clues about Isaac’s location.
Isaac was reportedly on a cross-country road trip, the park service said. His vehicle was found at Craig Pass, which is located about eight miles east of Old Faithful on the park’s Grand Loop Road.
This is only the second long-term search for a visitor this year ay Yellowstone, said park spokesman Al Nash.
Peter Louis Kastner, 25, of Oklahoma City, was reported missing at Yellowstone in May. A group of researchers found his body in July, at a site far from established trails, according to the park service.
An autopsy showed that Kastner died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Most people reported missing at the park return a few hours later than expected and do not need to be rescued, Nash said.
Isaac is described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 215 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He also has tattoos on his shoulder blades and his right triceps.
Anyone who has information about Isaac is asked to call Yellowstone’s communications center at 307-344-7381.
