Mitch McConnell: Trump would never pardon himself

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Trump would never pardon himself.

“I don’t think the president needs any advice on pardoning himself,” McConnell told reporters Tuesday. “He knows that would not be something he would or should do.”

Trump tweeted on Monday that he has “the absolute right to pardon myself.”

McConnell said it won’t happen.

“I think we’re having an academic discussion on whether it’s possible,” McConnell said. “I don’t know the answer to that.”
